India’s textile imports valued at $4.5 bn in Jan-Aug 2023

From January to August 2023, India imported $4.586 billion worth of textiles globally, with man-made filaments and materials leading at $1.191 billion. Man-made staple fibres and cotton followed, comprising significant portions of total imports. In 2022, textile imports totalled $8.133 billion, with cotton and man-made materials being the largest categories.
