Chinese raw silk prices soar as India’s charkha variety faces decline

Over the past year, Chinese high-grade raw silk prices increased by 7.37 per cent to $69.17 per kg, while Indian charkha raw silk prices fell by 27 per cent to $36.66 per kg. The upward trend in the Chinese market contrasts with the bearish trend in India, highlighting significant price movements and quality differences in the global silk industry.
